Code of Conduct

Community standards adapted from the Contributor Covenant for the LocalGen project.

Our pledge

Members, contributors, and leaders of the LocalGen community pledge to make participation a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We aim to build an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

Expected behavior

Positive community behavior includes:

  • showing empathy and kindness
  • respecting different viewpoints and experiences
  • accepting constructive feedback gracefully
  • taking responsibility for mistakes and learning from them
  • focusing on what is best for the community as a whole

Unacceptable behavior

The project does not accept:

  • sexualized language or imagery
  • trolling, insults, or personal or political attacks
  • public or private harassment
  • publishing another person’s private information without permission
  • other behavior that would reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Enforcement responsibilities

Community leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing these standards. They may remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, or other contributions that conflict with this code of conduct.

Scope

This code of conduct applies inside project spaces and when someone is representing the community in public spaces.

Reporting

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to:

Complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly, with respect for the reporter’s privacy and security.

Enforcement ladder

1. Correction

  • Impact: minor inappropriate behavior
  • Consequence: a private written warning and clarification

2. Warning

  • Impact: a more serious or repeated violation
  • Consequence: a formal warning and temporary restrictions on interaction

3. Temporary ban

  • Impact: serious misconduct or sustained inappropriate behavior
  • Consequence: a temporary ban from community interaction

4. Permanent ban

  • Impact: a pattern of serious violations, harassment, or aggression toward individuals or classes of people
  • Consequence: permanent removal from community interaction
